Blossoms In Autumn

dsmom daughter

On the day of her debut
The debutante approached the portal
She stood with imperfection
Her heart sank in trepidation
As her furtive eyes traced the aisle
The onerous path to be taken all the while.

A tap on her shoulder
Someone to hold her
They sailed down the aisle
To gavotte* and minuet*
A round of applause.

All did behold
With patience and tenderness
The spring had ushered
Blossoms in autumn.
